Lionel Messi will continue to be the Adidas ambassador for the forseeable future. The Barcelona star has signed a multi-year agreement with Adidas.

On his official facebook page he confirmed his commitment to Adidas with a simple post: “Happy to be able to continue working with adidas many more years! “

‎The 29 year-old Argentinian international and five-time Ballon D’Or winner has spent his entire professional career with Barcelona, scoring an incredible 487 goals in 564 games. So far this season, he scored 31 times in as many matches.

With Barcelona, Messi has won the Champions League four times, La Liga title eight times, four Copa del Rey four times, and also three FIFA Club World Cups. The only thing missing from this impressive collection is a major trophy with his beloved national team.

While details of the duration and value of the new Messi Adidas deal are not known, it would be safe to assume it will be a lifetime deal covering the rest of his playing days much like the one Cristiano Ronaldo signed with Nike last November.

Now that this business has been taken care of, up next for Messi is a contract renewal with Barcelona. Eventhough his contract only expires next season, the rumours and speculation on Messi’s future will be rampant.
