Usain Bolt did not specify when his training with the German team would start, although he confirmed his main goal is to perform well to play with Borussia Dortmund at a professional level.

The Jamaican athletet announced that he will participate in the training with the German side soon. The world-champion hopes to take the opportunity to make a difference with the team.

This is what he has confirmed in front of the press in Ostrava.

Bolt, who participated in the 100 meters race of the “Ostrava Golden Spike”, expressed his intention to play with the club managed by Peter Bosz.

“Let’s see the overall situation. I’ll be training with them soon and I hope to be included in the first team to play at a professional level in the world of football. It would be great if I can make it, otherwise, it will not be a problem.” 

The sprinter, who won eight gold medals in three Olympic Games (Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016), did not reveal when his training with the German team will begin.

Bolt plans to retire after the London World Championships that will take place from August 5 to 13. Possibly, his training period with Borussia Dortmund will start after that competition.
