Inter enters the betting world through Bwin. Another step away from former president Massimo Moratti that in the last few years never liked the idea to link the club with a betting company.
When Moratti sold Inter’s majority stake (70%) to Erick Thohir he decided to put in writing a clause that prohibited the new owner from signing sponsorship deals with betting companies.
However, time flies and Inter seems to be ready to begin a new successful chapter in its history.
According to the Italian sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Suning would have decided to bypass that order and enter into a deal with the well-known Bwin brand.
Bwin should be a new Inter sponsor starting this season alongside companies like Volvo and Tescoma which signed agreements with the Neroazzurri of Milan previously.
Suning’s main idea is to sell San Siro’s naming rights for Inter’s home games to a sponsor. This initiative would allow the Chinese group chaired by Zhang Jindong to boost Inter’s revenue. However, this is going to be a complicated idea to put into practice because the facility is shared by the two clubs of Milan.
Currently, Zhang Jindong’s strategy doesn’t seem to be implementable, however, Inter is still trying to understand the feasibility of the project.
