The Serie A 2019-20 season is starting in just a little over two weeks while the summer transfer window (mercato) ends in less than a month.
Work is underway to prepare and some stadiums will undergo renovations which will affect the seating capacity.
Here is a break down the different regions of Italy represented in the new Serie A 2019-20 season.
For the first time in Serie A history, two regions will have four clubs representing them: Emilia Romagna and Lombardia.
Regions with two teams: Lazio, Liguria, Piemonte
Regions with one team: Campania, Friuli, Puglia, Sardegna, Toscana, Veneto
Regions without a club: Valle d’Aosta, Trentino-Alto Adige, Umbria, Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicilia.
There are six teams that share the same stadium: Inter, Milan (Stadio Giuseppe Meazza), Genoa, Sampdoria (Stadio Luigi Ferraris) and Roma, Lazio (Stadio Olimpico).
