Qatar is not on the cheap side in reference to the organization of the 2022 World Cup. Everything must be perfectly done and super-stylish so for these reasons Qatar is spending $ 500 million per week to make their dream happen.
The government of Qatar revealed this data to impress the international community of football and to let them know that the 2022 World Cup will be an unforgettable event. Qatar’s Minister of Finance also announced that these huge investments could be protracted for three or four years as well. The investments that we are talking about are not only to build stadiums but also on everything that revolves around this great event of football. Streets, highways, railways, ports, airports, and obviously hospitals will be totally reshaped.
Shareef Al-Emadi, Qatar’s Minister of Finance, recently released an interview and stated:
“90% of the contracts for the 2022 World Cup have been already stipulated. We are trying to do everything on time. We don’t want that supporters enter in our country while we are still painting walls”.
Recently the inspectors of the “Building and Wood Workers’ International” (an international confederation of unions) visited the construction-site where 1 year ago a Nepalese worker died:
“We had the opportunity to talk with the workers about their working conditions on this site” revealed a representative of the unions.
