French giants Lyon sealed a naming rights deal for its stadium with longstanding partner Groupama.
According to Soccerex, Lyon closed a three-year deal with the Groupama Rhône-Alpes Auvergne-operated company.
The stadium of the Ligue 1 French side, Parc Olympique Lyonnais, will be renamed as the Groupama Stadium. The agreement put in place between the football club and the insurance company states that the Groupama logo will be displayed inside and outside the venue, as well as on pitchside LED boards and in hospitality areas.
The seven-time French champions chairman Jean-Michel Aulas expressed his happiness for this global agreement.
“I am very happy and proud of the signing of this global agreement. Groupama Rhône-Alpes Auvergne is an important partner for us. We have always been convinced that in France was possible to replicate what is happening abroad. We all knew that we could transcend the mere visibility of the brand in the stadium.”
Even Francis Thomine, managing director of Groupama, highlighted that the project of the company is innovative and economically ambitious.
“Our partnership with Lyon reflects our ambitions in a project that is innovative in its construction. Our objective is to make Groupama Stadium a venue for events and a unique social and cultural gathering for our region.”
