The Serie A 2017-18 season is just a month away. The mercato is in full force, teams have started their training camps and the newly promoted sides Benevento and SPAL are working hard to get their stadiums ready for Serie A standards. Here we present you the Serie A stadiums for the 2017-18 season.

If we use the Lazio region as the border between north and south, there are 14 teams in northern Italy and 6 in the south. Lombardia and Emiglia Romagna regions have the most teams (3 each).

Regions without a club: Valle d’Aosta, Trentino-Alto Adige, Umbria, Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, Basilicata, Puglia and Sicilia.

With the promotion of Hellas Verona and Benevento, calcio fans will enjoy two more fascinating derbies (Hellas Verona – Chievo, Napoli – Benevento).

There are eight teams that share the same stadium: Inter, Milan (Stadio Giuseppe Meazza), Hellas Verona, Chievo (Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi), Genoa, Sampdoria -(Stadio Luigi Ferraris) and Roma, Lazio (Stadio Olimpico).

This further illustrates Italy’s lack of investment in stadiums, as the Serie A is the only top five league in Europe where teams share a stadium.
